Andrew was the most amazing human you could ever meet. Beautiful soul. Kind, patient and hard working husband and fur baby dad. The love of Martyna’s life. Fitness manager, personal trainer, artist, songwriter, guitar player, tattoo enthusiast, and a food lover.
Andrew is no longer with us but he will always be in our hearts and minds. This store will be our way of sharing him with the rest of the world. He deserves that and so much more.
The owner
Martyna Dearing, age 27, a very proud first-time business owner. Her passion for books, writing, and any type of art is what motivated her to open up a bookstore. It’s been her dream for a long time but only losing Andrew made her realize that tomorrow was not guaranteed and she had to follow her heart. Martyna is a self-published author. Her first book came out in 2020 and was republished in November 2023 along with the store opening. Shortly after, she published her first book of poems. She’s currently working on two more books - one of them available for a member-only subscription here. Martyna hopes to help other indie authors like her to promote their work!
The store
Drew’s Bookstore is not your average bookshop. It’s more than that! Martyna’s mission is to bring in art from all over the world, but especially to promote indie authors and artists. We started as a brick-and-mortar bookstore in Warrenton, VA but it was time to move onto another great adventure. Now we are a mobile bookstore in the Austin, TX area!
We believe that every author deserves a chance to have their book on bookstore shelves. We do not charge any fees for purchasing books. We do not do consignment. We are convinced that if pay for bestsellers, we should pay the same way for indie books!
